Bone Tumors around the knee

Benign bone tumors which mostly are seen around the knee joint are Fibrous Cortical Defects, Non-Ossifying Fibroma and Osteochondroma.

Other benign bone tumors are Cortical Desmoid, Fibrous Dysplasia, Ossifying Fibroma and Desmoplastic Fibroma, Uni Cameral Bone Cyst, Aneurysmal bone Cyst, ganglion Cyst, Osteoid Osteoma, Multiple Osteochondromatosis, Chondroma and Multiple Enchondromatosis which all are rare to be present around the knee joint.

Tumors with malignant tendency

These are Giant Cell Tumor, Chondroblastoma, Chondromyxoid fibroma, Osteoblastoma and Histiocytosis X.

Malignant Tumors

Among the malignant tumors more common around the knee joint are:

Osteogenic sarcoma, Chondrosarcoma, Fibrosarcoma and Ewing’s Sarcoma.

Other Malignant bone tumors that are rare to be seen around the knee are:

Chondroma, malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma, Adamantinoma, Liposarcoma, Angiosarcoma and Myeloma.

Metastatic bone tumors also can be seen around the knee.
